I was wondering if there were any zumba lessons for visually impaired/blind people, and this is what I found.
Healthy Choices: Zumba with a twist: The other day Dan taught a great Zumba lesson!!! He recorded himself doing a Zumba lesson, but I was blind for the lesson so I was unable to...
I think I need to research some more.

Physical interaction or Technology
I will remember Thanksgiving 2011 for a long, long time. I got reminded that sometimes technology is a poor substitute for actually interacting with people and things around us. I say this because I got to see my parents and brother not seeing them for several (WAY WAY too many years). Even though I call my parents (at least once a month), I didn't really realize what their situation was. Technology helped my brother and I reconnect, but technology couldn't give either of us the physical experience of being able to hug and meet each other's children. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy technology, and the abilities it allows me to develop and use. I think that physical interactioncan't be replaced by technology, although it can be an aid (or prelude) to physical interaction.

This week in class, we discussed Facebook privacy and applications.
We read The Schaffhauser article, "Suspended Teacher in Facebook Incident Ignites Debate: Should Online Privacy for Educators Exist?". When it comes to privacy, I agree with some ofmy classmates, who said that we shouldn't post anything that we wouldn't want or boss or grandmother to see, because you don't know who's viewing your posts..
In terms of applications, most of my favorites are games. That's one of the reasons I said that my Facebook account is reserved for "fun". One of the non-game applications I like is "Groups", which would be helpful to have some sort of "classmates" group, because I post a lot of things that aren't class related.
I really should have worked on my wiki this week, but I didn't. I guess I needed a break.

My wiki on PBWorks
I have created a wiki on PBWorks. I want the wiki to be a resource for teachers. In particular, teachers who teach people who are blind or visually impaired. I feel that it's important to have a resource available, because my experience has been that sometimes a teacher doesn't know how to effectively instruct this type of learner.
You are welcome to visit my wiki, and contribute if you are able. Just go to my wiki at http://dmmclendon.pbworks.com.

What I learned through the blog creation process, successes & challenges I faced
So, a brief summary of what I learned through the blog creation process? I can't say I really learned anything. The blog creation process was as easy as setting up most anything on the web. I have learned a lot about good uses for blogs in my classes, which is good, because I was one who didn't see the value of blogs (or wiki). As far as successes and challenges I faced, I really haven't faced any challenges except for figuring out when and what to post, and any successes I've had are in the area of appearance. As a matter of fact, I had trouble getting this post to show up right.

blogs, visuals, & narration
This past week, I learned about how blogging can be used. I do see how blogs can be useful, but I would try to avoid using them as a resource for a paper. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using blog entries in a paper.
Last week, we also learned about when (and when not) to use visuals and narration. I have been trying to incorporate what. I learn in the reading into the assignment. I was nervous when I started doing the narration for the slide presentation that was our assignment. I thought about posting it with this entry. I’m a little self-conscious. What do you think?

Hello
This is the beginning of my blog, which is a new thing for me. I am starting this blog as part of a class assignment, in which we are discussing blogs as a learning technology. Now that I've created my blog entry, it's time to post and move on, because it's already late, and I have more to do.
